QR Code Madness!
It seems that the USA is going mad for QR codes. What are these little square things that don’t quite look like bar codes? Well, in Japan they are “old hat” and you will see them just about everywhere over there. QR codes were invented by Toyota to keep track of their parts. Very efficient, those Japanese!
So what can QR codes do for you? Well, first of all and most importantly, they make you look like the cool kid on the block. They are also a great way to communicate information to your clients, prospects, friends and family. A smartphone with a QR code reader can “scan” a QR code and instantly record contact information or be redirected to a web site. It can also pop up a phone number that you can simply tap and make the call. James Bond would be proud!
You can get your own QR code right here on my site. You can even choose fun colors for your code. I found that the lighter the background, the easier it was for my iPhone to read it. Enjoy!

Common Sense About Computer Backup
Backups? I don’t need no Steeenkin’ Backups
I wish that were the case, but your computer’s hard drive is spinning faster than a jet plane. Software viruses are lurking in the wilderness to come and infect your pc. Your cat may excrete fluids onto your laptop. You could have a house fire or a flood and boom, your computer is toast (or waterlogged in the case of a flood).
Your first defense against losing all your data is to back up your PC, but why do so many people not have a backup plan? Human nature. I believe in backing up, but I haven’t been perfect about it, so forgive me for preaching a bit here.
I’m writing this to help. Please note that even with a really good backup plan it is not possible to completely eliminate risk. The goal is to reduce the risk as much as possible.
